German test for immigrants ("Deutschtest für Zuwanderer" - DTZ)

The German test for immigrants (DTZ) is offered by telc on behalf of the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees and carried out by us. This is an examination that usually completes our integration courses and certifies the acquisition of language level A2-B1. However, external persons can also register with us for the examination dates (at the latest 2-3 weeks before the examination date).

For more information on the DTZ and the structure of the exam see here.

For external examinees, the costs for the examination with us are €160.00. If the participants are officially free of charge for an integration course, the participation in the examination DTZ is also free of charge for them.

Our next exam dates are:

  • 05.08.2022 (registration is no longer possible)
  • 15.10.2022 (no free slots left)
  • 28.10.2022
  • 11.11.2022
  • 25.11.2022
  • 09.12.2022

⚠ Please note: The Alpha Plus language school only supervises and conducts the tests. The evaluation and certification is not carried out by us. Processing takes 6-8 weeks. The DTZ certificates can be collected from us on site. The LID certificates are usually sent directly to your home.

Test "Living in Germany" (LID)

The "Living in Germany" test is carried out by us on behalf of the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees. The examination certificate is often required for an extension of the residence permit or for application for German citizenship. The exam contains 33 questions on topics such as politics, German history and cultural diversity and lasts a maximum of 60 minutes. Here you will find a list of questions to prepare for the exam.

In our orientation courses, our course participants are prepared for this exam. We ask for your understanding that we do not offer any places for external examinees. Registration for a LID test can only take place after attending our orientation course.
